Governor Newsom Appoints Partner Rachel Jensen to the San Diego Superior Court Bench
Yesterday, California Governor Gavin Newsom appointed partner Rachel Jensen to serve as a judge on the San Diego Superior Court.
Rachel has been a partner at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP for over 15 years and is a distinguished leader in the plaintiffs’ bar.
A lifelong advocate for justice and human rights, her first roles after her clerkship on the Ninth Circuit were serving in the Office of the Prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. At Robbins Geller, she focused her practice on representing consumers and investors harmed by corporate fraud, and she has played a key role in numerous consumer fraud and securities fraud cases of national dimension.
- She served as co-lead counsel in the Firm’s case against Trump University, which recovered $25 million for the victims.
- She brought a high-profile case against Greyhound for its policies that allegedly facilitated racial profiling of its bus riders.
- In 2022, she negotiated a resolution for a union-community coalition in Alabama to secure workers’ rights at a major manufacturing operation there. The Washington Post called the resolution a nationwide “template for public-sector infrastructure contracting” in communities building new infrastructure. For these and her many contributions to the legal and local community, she has been recognized as one of the leading attorneys in the plaintiffs’ bar and nationwide.
Rachel has also been a leader in pro bono and community service. She co-founded and served on the board of directors of a San Diego area non-profit that serves people struggling with homelessness, and she has been repeatedly recognized for her efforts to advance diversity and fairness in the legal profession.
Please join us in congratulating Judge Jensen.
