This week, NERA Economic Consulting, an independent economic consultancy, released its annual report entitled “Recent Trends in Securities Class Action Litigation: 2024 Full-Year Review.” The report shares NERA’s comprehensive analysis of securities litigation cases filed and resolved in U.S. courts over the prior year, detailing key trends in various litigation and economic metrics.

The latest NERA trends report lists the ten “Top Settlements” in U.S. securities litigation in 2024. Robbins Geller served as co-lead counsel in the top eight cases on the list and as sole lead counsel in six of the NERA top ten settlements.

“Each case on the list posed a unique challenge. In one case (Envision), we had to navigate the corporate defendant’s bankruptcy. In two others (Under Armour and Apple), we resolved the cases shortly before the trial was set to commence. In another (TuSimple), we had to obtain a temporary restraining order to prevent the defendant from dispersing funds overseas. In yet another (Alphabet), we had to win a reversal on appeal which not only moved the case towards resolution but also established new law protecting investors,” shared Darren Robbins, a partner at the Firm.

“Our team loves solving these challenges for our clients, and we’re very proud to stand with our clients who secured outsized recoveries for investors against some of the toughest and most sophisticated defendants in the world,” he added.

The Firm’s securities litigation practice was also honored recently by Law360 as “Practice Group of the Year” and shortlisted for “Plaintiff Firm of the Year” by Benchmark Litigation.
